The Latest Trends

This season look for a lot of neutral tones just like last year, but keep on the lookout for bolder animal prints.  For a little colour in your life, think about different shades of blues and greens on your feet.  Though neutrals are very “in,” everyone needs a little splash of colour.

A popular look is going to be shoes with earthy, natural accents. With everyone seemingly “going green” these days, it makes sense that the splash of colour would be blues and greens and materials some styles are made of are au natural.  Natural accents such as wood, rope-covered heels, and cork are going to be the frontrunners in shoe design for the warm 2010 seasons.  You’ll be able to find a fashionable espadrille almost anywhere.

Other Hot Shoe Trends

It looked like the wedge heel would only make a partial comeback, but it has proven quite popular.  In fact, many women find it so much easier to wear a wedge rather than a stiletto and the fashion world knows that!  Wedge heels are perfectly accented by the latest natural accents, so the wedge’s comeback came just in time.

And if you love sandals, don’t fret.  Sandals aren’t going anywhere!  Though for 2010, heavier sandals are going to be a lot more popular than their skimpier counterparts.  Look for woven sandals (another throwback to the natural themes we’ll be seeing this spring and summer) along with wide-collared sandals and bootie sandals.

What’s Coming off the Catwalk

New styles will be coming off the catwalk and hitting the high streets this season, for sure!  However, there will be subtle differences between the last few seasons’ trends and 2010’s.  The main thing we will see hitting the streets will be a combination of design styles.  For example, we will see hefty elements married with elegant ones such as thick ankle collars paired with simple and sexy vamp straps.  Simply put, we’ll be seeing a lot of design detailing in 2010.  We’ll also continue seeing quite a few platform sandals!

What’s Cooling Down

One thing we will be seeing less of is the gladiator sandal, so if you love them you’ll be sad to see them go.  However, that’s not to say they won’t be available.  The gladiators we’ll see in 2010 won’t be as prevalent and will be toned down a couple of notches.  We’ll also be seeing less and less bright colours as we move into cool blues, greens and a selection of neutrals.

Gaultier’s capsule collection will include several models of shoes for both women and men, aged in the traditional “sea” of blue-white color scheme which will look just irresistable for the spring/summer season. This famous brand often makes us happy with stylish shoes of crazy color scheme, and now they have presented yet another design proposal for our appreciation. The “disco” sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti are created specifically for the club and brilliant party funs, those who don’t need resting and need something comfortable to wear while dancing.

The traditional and very feminine form of barefoot is combined with bold design and bold colors, which creates a stunning effect. This pair is associated with mad style Studio 54, with mirror balls and a myriad of glittering confetti.

According to the NY Daily News contest for the largest collection of shoes was announced among the women who live in New York. The initiative comes from the director of the general network of shoe shores Love My Shoes Robert Yeganeh.

“We are looking for a passionate collectors of shoes and hope they will have a good taste” – told Yeganeh. Applicants may apply in one of five shops of Love My Shoes in New York. Reception of applications continues until January 10, 2010. The winner of the contest will receive from the network of Love My Shoes around 12 pairs of shoes. Each month during the year she will be able to choose a pair of shoes with high heels for free.

We know that New York is home to many famous women who can boast a large collection of shoes. These include Gisele Bundchen, Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker. They have not volunteered to participate in the contest yet. So it feels like the contest is going to be rather down-to -earth.

Unique in design ankle boots from Carvela appeared on pages of ASOS with enviable regularity as not to make the customers to wait. Today we are going to take a closer look at the model called Carvela Zip Side Platform Shoe.

Thin high heel, small platform and an incredible number of through holes: it seems to us a description of the regular glamorous sandals or shoes, but no, this time we are talking about ankle boots. The distinctive appearance is just ideal to be unique in a crowd.

Made of stylized genuine leather, the footwear is literally amazing. As in previous collections, the heel in this model remains closed, and this is probably the only area that designers wanted to hide. This is some kind of cool option for the design.

Marc Jacobs is, of course, an all-known talented designer, but sometimes he makes a peculiar “injections” of bad taste without which fashion would not be so interesting and diverse. So the design of these shoes seems to me to be rather questionable and leave a spot for arguments.

These shoes have a very classical form: they are made in traditional “masculine” style with a slight hint of retro style. But the thing to judge with are the color and the texture. The color is bright red, which attracts attention, while in combination with a spectacular foil shine it is even more tasteless.

To reinforce the impression, Jacobs concluded the bright material in the black “frame”, the sole and the heel of shoes, as well as the lace, located on the asymmetric sides of shoes are painted in black which makes them look even more strange. Interestingly, insole you can see the brand prints of the collection Marc by Marc Jacobs – flowers and amusing insects.

When working on this pair, Jacobs managed to create a style, which is at once frivolous and dramatic. In other words, the shoes look  kind of messed up. But it can easily be included in the wardrobe of a bright girl, who is prone to stylistic experiments and refuses boring things in favor of unusual design.
