Shoes and boots with very wide and stable heels are present in the collections of many designers for the next season.
This retro-trend came to us from the 1970’s, it was also observed in the 90’s. Today such heels look more elegant and sophisticated.

Designers experiment with forms and materials trying to make fashionable heels. Modern shoemakers make holes on the thick-heels; decorate them with stones of different shapes and colors, swift heels with luxurious materials.

In the new collections wide heels can be low (5-6 cm) or very high.
The heels of the shoe from the collection of Proenza Schouler at first sight seem not very high. This illusion is created by a high platform, hiding a 1/3 of the square heel.
Very high geometric heels are well represented in the collections of Prada autumn/ winter 2009/10. High heels are narrow at the base, recalling the form of pyramids.
