The British designer J. Maskrey brought into fashion the idea of “Skin Jewellery”, which became the starting point in her corporate style. Whatever she does, she always finds unusual sources of inspiration, embodying them in unusual forms, studded with a generous scattering of glittering crystals.

J. Maskrey began her career as a make-up artist, and then was inspired to become a designer due to the jewelry design attraction; she now designs several collections of clothing and footwear. Her clothing and accessories are easily recognizable by brilliant crystals, sequins and jewels, with which she always decorates her products.

Even the most everyday forms turn into real fireworks of brilliant parts in the hands of this designer. But however, her style has never approached to the kitsch – everything shines, shimmers, but there is nothing superfluous and screaming. The emphasize is made on not the glitter but the shine and the sense of brightness.

This season, J. Maskrey cooperates with the shoe brand Melissa, known for its bright projects with Vivienne Westwood, Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid.

For creating this collection, the designer was really inspired by the night sky, which she saw from the window of the aircraft while flying to Paris. That’s such a romantic story for quite prosaic collection of shoes made of a plastic.

Transparent shoes and ballet flats by J. Maskrey Melissa are covered with crystals in a chaotic manner, as the stars in the sky. The effect of the night sky enhances a dark color plastic, but in my opinion exactly the transparent model will look more exotic on the leg.
