Dutch designer Jan Jansen works with women’s footwear for over forty years. From the very beginning of his career, he set a goal to break stereotypes, constantly offering revolutionary ideas to the world.

In 1963, Jansen first published collection of shoes, and almost immediately began to write about it in the largest fashion magazines. In 1969 model Woody Clog made him famous in many countries. It was a shoe, leather upper of which was nailed to a wooden sole.

This unusual, but not rough model more than once served as an inspiration for other shoe designers. In 77’s Jansen offered another revolutionary idea – high-heeled shoes.

Now it no longer seems to us something supernatural, but at that time over a million pairs was sold only in the United States.

In 80’s designer offered the idea of colorfully decorated rubber boots. In addition, he actively experiments with the form of a heel, making it a beveled or concave.

In 90’s, feeling the changeable mood of the era, Jansen has created a line Erotica – shoes with very sensuous curves of smooth lines, such as red shoes in the form of the heart.

In 1997 he introduced a very interesting model Scarf which creates the illusion that the scarf is wrapped around your legs – one side is black, the other – leopard.

At the same time came the idea of curved wedges of metal plates – Shoes Tutti Piedi.

In 2000’s designer created collection of shoes Turn Me On, which are decorated with skin curlicues, resembling wood chippings.

Another interesting model is the boots with laces For Snoecks, which resemble a bouquet of exotic flowers.

Shoes Jan Jansen brought to its creator many prestigious awards; his models have been exhibited in museums around the world and continue to inspire artists and designers. Recently, Jan Jansen released a book in which he spoke about his work.
